If you have ever worked in the offices of a business or organization, be it large or small, you will have become aware of the accounts department of that organization. It is the accounts department which is responsible for invoicing the company’s clients, paying bills to suppliers, taking care of the payroll, the company’s taxation, and a whole lot more besides.

They are also responsible for budgeting, profit and loss, cash flow forecasts, depreciation of plant, and so on. Without an accounts department any business would be financially all at sea, and have no idea of where it stood. Even children need some elementary accountancy skills to manage their allowance. If you work for yourself, or even at the household level, balancing your checkbook involves rudimentary accounting. Click here fore more information on Sheffield Accountants.

Many businesses operate on overdrafts, or bank loans, it’s important for them to know precisely how nicely their business has carried out over the course of the years, to decide whether or not to permit the mortgage to run on, thus incurring extra interest, or whether or not to pay off the loan, or a large portion of it.

Accounting expertise are necessary for individuals just as much as for giant corporations. Without robust financial controls in place, households, as well as large business can find themselves working into all sorts of trouble. On a personal level this might simply be having to face the embarrassment of a bounced test, whereas for a big public firm, it could imply having to show a loss to firm shareholders, which might result in a lack of confidence in the company.

Accounting is admittedly about managing data concerning the monetary health of an individual, a household, or a enterprise, whether that happens to be a small ‘mom and pop’ business or a huge multi nationwide corporation.

I’m just wondering if it affects your credit to apply for a store credit card even though you know you r going to be denied.
I always apply for kohls credit card every time i shop there to get the 10 dollars off for just applying. But my boyfriend says that it’s going to be ruin my credit

Best answer:

Answer by anonymous
If you keep applying and getting denied then yes it is hurting your credit. Only apply once and if you are denied wait years before reapplying. Store credit cards are exactly like regular credit cards. Every time a company does a credit check it lowers your rating a little, especially if you are applying for credit cards often and causing lots of credit checks.

I heard that as long as I pay in full for the billing cycle, I will avoid finance charges. Is that true?
You see, they aren’t exactly clear in the fine print. They use a lot of flowery language and don’t directly state their policy.

I’m speaking of a Bank of America Visa card, by the way.

Best answer:

Answer by rtfm
Depends on your specific agreement with your particular credit card company.

Read the fine print on that multi-page document they sent you when you first got your card. I’m sure it’s spelled out there somewhere.

Best answer:

Answer by Ryan
Check to see if your school has a credit union on campus or a bank that caters specifically to students. The card will generally be more lenient in granting credit but will also have lower credit limits. They understand that you are starting out and will work with you.

I am interested in a credit card that has the best rewards or cash back for purchases on gas. I would only use the credit card at gas stations, and rarely at other places like for food, so I am mainly concerned about the gas. Please share your knowledge and experience.

Thanks!!

Best answer:

Answer by Big Brotha Mike
There are several good cards for rewards on gas station spending. They include:

- TrueEarnings Card from Costco and American Express has 3% cash back at gas stations. It requires a $ 50 Costco membership to get it though.

- Blue Cash from American Express Card has 5% cash back at gas stations after you’ve accrued $ 6500 in spending in a given year. Up until that point it’s only 1% cash back though.

- Discover Open Road Card has 2% cash back at gas stations with some monthly limits.

- Escape by Discover Card is effectively a 2% rewards card on all spending, but you have to redeem your earnings toward travel (credits to your card).

There are others as well. Figuring out the best card for your overall spending (not just gas) can be complicated. You might want to try this credit card rewards calculator to see which card or combination of cards will pay you the most in rewards for your entered spending profile:

http://www.creditcardtuneup.com/

You can just enter a monthly spending dollar amount in the “gas” spending category of the calculator to see which card will pay you the most for your gas-only spending.

I am planning on getting a student credit card before i go to school in the fall and I cannon decide which would be the best for me. I have it narrowed down to 3 cards…

1. Citi mtvU Platinum Visa for College students
2. Citi Forward Student Card
3. Discover Student Card

Please help me decide

Best answer:

Answer by Poppy
The best is no card, install your budget in a checking account and learn to budget. The credit card allows you to overspend with nothing but your meager funds to make payments with thus lowering your monthly cash.

I’m in a better financial situation now, by no means rich, but I would like to clear my name and not be handcuffed by my prior situation.

What’s the best way for me to handle this? I got a letter offering a "one-time only" payment to a collection agency at about half off, which is very attractive, but I want to make sure that I’m both clearing my conscience and boosting my credit rating. If I can do that and pay less than I theoretically owe (considering most of it is probably finance charges), all the better.

For the record, I have a couple of open accounts that are perfectly clear. I’ve looked into it a little and the state I lived in when I opened the account has a six year statute of limitations.

Looking for solid advice as I’d like to buy a house in the next couple of years.
